Requirements

  • Higher education entrance qualification (A-levels), vocational technical diploma or intermediate school-leaving certificate
  • Good grades in mathematics and physics
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Flexibility and strong spatial visualisation skills
  • Affinity for technology
  • Creative thinking
  • Duration of apprenticeship: 3.5 years

Job description

Industrial product designers develop and design components and assemblies based on customer specifications. They work closely together with machine designers and mechanical engineers. The designs are completed in 3D CAD systems with reference to the general rules for control and electrical systems, using suitable standard parts. The production of the components and assemblies designed by you is based on production drawings generated from the model according to the relevant standards. Your designs must take into account available production methods and relevant material properties. Based on your draft, you the compile the parts lists. You also produce drawings following change requests or suggestions, for instance based on fault or test reports.
